About Arrieros

Coffee with a farm attached to it.

Arrieros is Carlos Javier Galindo Huertas. It started in a kitchen, roasting five kilos at a time and delivering bags to friends by bike. The batches are bigger now. The method isn’t. Everything is still roasted in small lots rather than run through automation.

The beans come directly from farming families in Colombia’s mountain regions, bought above market rate, with traceability back to the specific farm that grew them. Whole bean, ground, specialty and decaf.

At Revel it works out of a hand-painted van in the parking lot on the Havana Street side, the whole thing a mural of a Colombian coffee farm. It opens at six: before the first class, and still there when you come back out. Shop the full range →
